Privacy
This policy covers targaclassica.com and the information Australian Classic Events Pty Ltd collects through it. It is written to be read, not to be waded through, and it describes what the site actually does.
Who we are
Targa Classica is run by Australian Classic Events Pty Ltd, in Victoria, Australia. If you want to talk to a person about anything on this page, email registrations@targaclassica.com and a person will answer.
What we collect, and when
Nothing is collected from you unless you type it into a form or subscribe. There are three places that happens.
- Registering for the event. Your name, email address, phone number, the state you are in, your car’s make, model and year, the package you are interested in, and how you heard about the event.
- Sending us a message through the contact page. Your name, email address and whatever you write.
- Subscribing to the newsletter. Your first name, if you give one, and your email address.
What we do with it
Entry details are used to process your entry, to contact you about it, and to run the event. Messages are read and answered. Newsletter subscriptions are used to send the newsletter, which carries an unsubscribe link in every edition and nothing else is sent to that list.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not give it to sponsors or partners.
Where it goes
Running an event means using other companies to hold and send things. The ones that touch your information are listed here rather than hidden behind a phrase about service providers. Several of them store data outside Australia.
- Airtable, which holds entry and enquiry records. United States.
- Brevo, which holds the newsletter list and sends the newsletter and confirmation emails. European Union.
- Microsoft 365, which carries our email. Australia and overseas.
- Vercel, which hosts this website and keeps short-lived server logs that include IP addresses. United States.
Measurement and advertising
This site runs Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and the Meta Pixel. They set cookies and similar identifiers, and they record pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser, and whether you completed a registration, an enquiry or a newsletter signup. Meta uses that to measure and target advertising, including to people who have visited this site.
You can turn this off. Browser settings can block cookies, most browsers offer a do not track signal, and Google and Meta both publish their own opt-out controls. Blocking them does not stop you using the site or entering the event.
How long we keep it
Entry records are kept for as long as we run the event, because the field, the results and the history are the event’s own record and entrants return year after year. Enquiries are kept while they are useful to answer. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe, and unsubscribing removes you from the sending list.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or unsubscribe. Email registrations@targaclassica.com and say what you want. There is no form and no process to navigate.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to fix it. If that does not resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If what we do with information changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top changes too.
